How is CBD Made?

Some of our other blog posts have explained what CBD is, but how are CBD products made? It’s difficult to picture a plant and compare that to the high-end CBD products we have at PROEDGE. We know that CBD can help with all kinds of things, and even improve your golf game (or any other sport, for that matter), but we haven’t explained the methods behind it. Therefore, in order to truly understand these products, it is interesting to learn where they actually come from and how the process works. We’re here to break it down for you!

Firstly, the cannabis or hemp plant is put through a CO2 extraction system, in which CO2 is used as a solvent to extract the oil. This system is very clean and pure because it doesn’t leave any residue after the extraction. Next, to isolate the CBD (and other compounds), the oil needs to be distilled. The distillation process involves removing unwanted elements that were extracted from the plant, such as fats, waxes, and lipids. After that, the oil mixture is combined with 200 proof alcohol, stored in a deep freezer, and then filtered – the alcohol is then removed from the substance once again. The CBD is then further refined as the extract is heated again to re-separate all of the compounds and isolate each one for different uses. At that point, you have CBD oil.

It is vital to use the proper equipment and safety measures, as that will ensure that you are getting the best possible product in the end. After the long, multi-step extraction process, the CBD oil is closely examined before it can enter the market, so that the CBD oil being sold by companies like us is safe and reliable. Once you have the CBD oil, you can use it as the main ingredient to make other products, such as lotion or salve. Luckily, PROEDGE sells CBD oil, lotion, and roll-on save, so that you can use CBD most effectively for your individual needs.
